I’m going to try to write more blog posts. Emphasis try. I’m in the habit (or trying to get into the habit, anyway) of writing short screenplays during the first days of the week for my wednesday writing group (lovingly, if not officially, the Dream Warriors). I haven’t had any good ideas today, though. I’ve been too busy slugging through the first 228 pages of Catch-22.

I’m only on page 84, of course, but at this clip I’ll soon reach page 228, which is great, because then I’ll be able to read the last 235 pages of Catch-22. My only concern is that I’ll lose pages 227 and 228 (and perhaps even more!) before I read them. Then what? (!) Certainly I can’t move on to the last 235 pages having only read the first 226 (or perhaps even less!). This says nothing of the safety of pages 235 and 236.

So anyway, as this book literarily [pun] crumbles in my hands as I read it, I’ve been trying to come up with ideas on what to do with the pieces. I was thinking today of posting each page on which the words “Catch-22″ are printed (in the text) around my room, but this is surprisingly few pages and still leaves considerable waste. I want to turn waste into art, not create wasteful art, so that idea won’t do at all.

In the meantime, I’ll be posting some new pictures (I have to catch[-22] up for a few missed days). The theme for the next few Littlest Robots will be “dumb signs in Brooklyn.” As always, NYC Parks is breaking new ground in the field of poorly named landmarks, but the people of Greenpoint and north Williamsburg are not to be outdone. No “Whatever Tattoo”‘s here, but still some very good/bad signage.

Also, it’s 9:26 PM here and still 83° F. This is a nightmare.

The Littlest Robot

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Bob suggested doing a 1 post/day photo blog. The whole series will be categorized as The Littlest Robot and can be navigated to from the sidebar.

I’m trying a different approach, i think, from Bob, Emma, et al., but that will either be clear or it won’t.

My BEEP BOP’s BOOP for themselves.
